The Porbeagle Shark

What’s causing my animal to be endangered is fishing and hunting. Which they die because when they pull them out of the water they don’t have water and they die. My animal lives in the North Atlantic Ocean it swims in water that are about 1,350 meter or about 4,400 feet deep. The ecosystem the porbeagle shark is in is temperate waters. The country it comes from Is the coasts of Greenland, Canada, Russia and Scandinavia. The porbeagle shark eats mainly schools of fish, such as Mackerel, Herring, Cod, Hake, Lancetfish, Redfish, Haddock and other small sharks.

The threats to the porbeagle shark are overfishing, with both targeted long line fisheries and trawl/gill net bycatch fisheries capturing the sharks for their highly valued meat, Liver and fins. Fun Fact the meat of the porbeagle is among the most prized of all shark meat, particularly in Europe. The porbeagle shark lives up to 30 through 40 years the max height is 3 meters (10 - 12 feet) it weighs about 500 pounds. It's not Extinct its vulnerable which is bad and the number alive is decreasing. We could save it from going Extinct by not letting people go deeper than a 1,000 feet and up. Its nickname is lamna Nasus which means a viviparous mackerel shark (Lamna nasus) chiefly of the North Atlantic and South Western Pacific oceans with a pointed snout and crescent-shaped tail. The porbeagle shark rarely attacks humans because they in deep waters which only fisherman that looking for lobster or anything else. The porbeagle shark is related to the shortfin Mako. The mating grounds are the Gulf of Mexico which most sharks go. The biggest porbeagle shark was a Female caught in the Harland Point of Devon.
